  1. 500 gram fresh spinach
  2. 1/2 cup split mung bean (mung dal)
  3. 1 tsp turmeric powder
  4. 1 tbsp red chilli powder
  5. 1 tbsp dhaniya jeera powder
  6. Pinch asafoetida
  7. 1 tbsp oil
  8. to taste Salt

  1. Wash & soak mung dal & wash spinach leaves & chop it.

  2. Heat oil, add asafoetida and then spinach & dal.

  3. Mix well, after few minutes, add salt and rest of masala,mix well and let it cook on slow flame, till mung dal properly cooked. Cover vessel half with lid.

  4. If you wish,you can add garlic and tomato when cooked, then keep gas on for few minutes then turn off gas and serve hot.
