  1. 2 cup basmati rice soaked for half an hour in plain water
  2. 2 potato
  3. 2 tbsp oil or ghee
  4. 1 tsp cumin seed
  5. 2 bay leaf
  6. 4 cloves
  7. 6-8 black peppercorn
  8. 2 black cardamom
  9. 2 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  10. 1 large onion sliced
  11. 1 bowl green peas
  12. 2 sliced green chilli
  13. 1.5 tbsp garam masala
  14. 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  15. 1 tbsp coriander powder
  16. 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  17. To taste Salt
  18. As needed Water
  19. As needed Chopped coriander

Step-step making Recipes easy to make Tahari

  1. Heat oil/ghee in a pressure cooker, add cumin seed, bay leaf, cardamom, all dry spices and cook for a minute.now add sliced onion and fry for a couple of minutes.

  2. Now add ginger garlic paste and slit green chilli and fry for a few minutes.add all spices and mix well.add potato and green peas and mix into a masala for a couple of minutes.

  3. Add the rice, mix well. Along with water, salt and light spices. Cook for 2-3whistle till rice is well cooked and not mushy and the veggie are cooked.

  4. Garnished with chopped coriander. Serve hot with raita and papad.
